How to give Claude its own computer

Connect Claude to a clawd.run computer with one custom connector link. Claude gets a browser that stays logged in, files that stay between chats, and a shell.

On its own, Claude works inside the chat. It cannot keep a browser open, it cannot save a file and find it tomorrow, and it cannot run a command. clawd.run gives Claude its own computer for that: a browser that stays logged in, files that stay between chats, and a shell. The computer sleeps when you stop and wakes when Claude calls it again.

Connect it once

  1. Sign up for clawd.run. A computer is set up for you and stays asleep until your AI uses it.
  2. Copy the one connector link shown on your dashboard.
  3. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector. Paste the link and sign in with your clawd account.
  4. Start a chat and give Claude a job that needs a browser, files or a shell.

That link is the only thing you paste anywhere. The computer speaks remote MCP, the same protocol Claude custom connectors use, and you sign in through clawd.run. We never ask for your Anthropic password.

What Claude can do with it

The homepage has three starter jobs you can copy and adjust:

  • Watch a page. Claude opens the page, takes a screenshot, and tells you what changed since the last check.
  • Fill a form from a spreadsheet. Claude reads rows from a file on its computer and types them into a web form, one submit at a time.
  • Keep research between chats. Claude saves what it finds to files, so the next chat starts from your notes instead of from zero.

A recorded run

On Oct 6, 2026 we recorded Claude Sonnet 5.5, called through OpenRouter, doing the page watch job twice on one clawd computer, in two separate chats 33 minutes apart. Each chat read its log file, opened Hacker News, took a screenshot, read the page and appended what changed to watch/hn.md. The tool calls were read_file, browser_open, browser_screenshot, browser_snapshot and write_file.

Between the chats the computer stopped on its own after 5 idle minutes. The second chat had no memory of the first, but the log file was still there, and its first call woke the computer in 2.5 seconds. Read every step in the transcript.

Shell commands

Claude can also run shell commands on its computer. Commands run inside the computer's home directory, time out after 30 seconds by default, and can be given up to 120 seconds.

What it costs

$10 a month for 60 active hours. An hour only counts while the computer is awake. The trial is 5 active hours, free, with no card. clawd.run is on a waitlist right now, and Grok uses the same link (see the Grok guide). ChatGPT comes after Claude and Grok.
