How to give Grok a browser that stays logged in

Add clawd.run to Grok as a connector and Grok can open pages, take screenshots and read them in a browser that lives on its own computer, not in the chat.

A browser that lives inside a chat goes away when the chat ends. clawd.run puts the browser on a computer that belongs to your AI instead. Grok drives it through a connector, and the browser stays logged in from one chat to the next, next to files that also stay put and a shell.

Set it up

  1. Sign up for clawd.run. A computer is set up for you and stays asleep until your AI uses it.
  2. Copy the one connector link shown on your dashboard.
  3. In Grok, open Connectors, add a custom connector, paste the link and sign in with your clawd account.
  4. Ask Grok to open a page, take a screenshot and tell you what it sees.

It is the same link Claude uses. The computer speaks remote MCP and you sign in through clawd.run, so we never ask for your xAI password.

What the browser can do

In the recorded demo the AI used these browser tools on its clawd computer: browser_open to load a page, browser_screenshot to capture it, and browser_snapshot to read the page as text. Paired with file tools, that covers jobs like these from the homepage:

  • Watch a page and report what changed since the last check, with a screenshot.
  • Fill a form from a spreadsheet, typing one row at a time and writing each confirmation number back to a file.
  • Keep research between chats by saving findings to a notes file and adding only what is new next time.

The demo run was recorded with Claude, and Grok connects to the same computer the same way. See the recorded tool calls.

Why logged in matters

A lot of useful pages sit behind a login. Because the browser belongs to the computer and not to a single chat, a session you set up there is still there the next time Grok opens the browser. You do not start every chat signed out.

Sleep and wake

The computer sleeps when you stop and wakes when Grok asks again. In our recording, a computer that had stopped after 5 idle minutes woke in 2.5 seconds on the next call. You pay for awake time only: $10 a month for 60 active hours, with a 5 hour free trial and no card. clawd.run is on a waitlist right now.
