Channel notes / Telegram

A hosted AI agent. In your Telegram.

Give your Telegram bot an OpenClaw agent behind it. Clawd hosts the agent runtime; you connect the bot from your dashboard and choose what work to give it.

Compare plans

You need your own Telegram bot credentials and an eligible plan. This is agent hosting, with channel setup required.

How the work connects
  1. Your channelTelegram bot

A bot you create and control.

  2. Hosted runtimeOpenClaw agent

Your bot connects to its gateway.

  3. WorkFiles + tools

The agent uses its configured workspace and tools.

Connection map. Setup and permissions determine what your agent can access.

The practical part

Bring the bot. Leave the runtime to Clawd.

  1. Create your Telegram bot

Create a bot through Telegram's BotFather and keep its credentials private. You supply the bot; Clawd does not create a Telegram account for you.

  2. Connect it in the dashboard

Use the channel configuration to connect Telegram to OpenClaw. The connection flow checks your plan, writes the channel configuration and restarts the gateway.

  3. Start with one useful task

Ask it to turn a message into a saved note or summarize a file in its workspace. Review its response before asking it to do more. Available tools depend on your configuration.

Make the call.

A good fit when

You already use Telegram and want a hosted OpenClaw runtime without operating the server yourself.

Consider another setup when

You need full control over the server, custom network rules or a setup that runs entirely on your own hardware.

Before you choose

Good questions.

Does Clawd create my Telegram bot?

No. You create the bot through Telegram and supply its credentials in the channel configuration. Keep those credentials private.

Is Telegram available on every plan?

The channel connection endpoint requires an eligible paid plan. Review the current pricing page and confirm channel eligibility before choosing your setup.

Can I connect Slack instead?

The code also supports Slack channel configuration. Slack needs its own app credentials and permissions. Telegram credentials cannot be reused for Slack.

Will it automatically do everything I ask?

No. Results depend on the model, configured tools and permissions. Start with a small task, review the result and keep approval over consequential actions.
